If necessary I just cut & paste the broken-link text into my web  
browser.  A little inconvenient but no big deal if I think I'll be  
interested.

I'm not too fond of tinyurl links because there's no indication of  
where they'll actually go so I normally avoid clicking them unless  
the sender has provided some supporting info.
