If I lost even only 70 hours of labor to a HDD crash I would classify that as catastrophic to me.... jco

That's basically what I realised about a week ago before I started this thread (I'm amazed it's stayed on topic for so long). Because my data is coming from scanned film, the consequences of a HDD crash aren't catastrophic for my images... but they are still dire enough to cause an epic torrent of profanity. On average it takes me about an hour per photo to scan and process and I really don't want to see that time go down the drain. So far I'm about 70 scans into the project; don't ask how many are left :( - Dave
