To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favourite movies of all time.
IMHO, Peck's greatest performance (among many great ones). I always
found it interesting that the young actors who played Jem and Scout
never acted again (IIRC), as they were both very believable in their
their roles.

I really liked that (although they had to edit out large parts of the
book for time) they took so much dialogue verbatim from the book. One
thing I never could understand is why they changed the ending: in
book, the narrator (Scout as an adult) said something to the effect,
"We never saw Boo Radley again", whereas in the movie, she said "that
was the beginning of the coming out of Boo Radley" (or words to that
effect). Quite a difference!

Anyway, I'm happy for you for all your presents, Godfrey, but
especially that one.

cheers,
frank
