I took some really nice shots there a couple years ago. Unfortunately,
I wasn't using a Pentax. It was a Rapid Omega 100 that I had along with
me. I've never seen a place like that before in my life. We passed
through there on the way back from Arches NP in Utah, another place I'll
never forget... Maybe when I earn posting priveledges, I'll post a shot.
But the thing that's so weird about the Great Sand Dunes is that the
area around them (Alamosa, Colorado) is pretty flat and plain. And off
in the distance you can see the Great Sand Dunes coming up for miles as
you drive toward them...
