1a is used on the Pentax A10, the sensor assembly is shunted vertically and horizontally via a pair of solenoids. The KM 7D uses the same principle in its AS technology but moves the sensor using piezo motors. > 1b - will not be. > None of this methods would require knowledge of the lens > (at least in the first approximation). An effective AS system should also attempt to counter for some yaw and rotation (the primary errors caused due to shake when shooting long lenses), how these movements could be overcome without knowing taking lenses FL at the very least I don't understand so I guess we differ in opinion regarding the variable required to counter camera shake. For a pic of the 7D AS system check the following link: http://shutterbug.com/equipmentreviews/amateur_digital_slrs/0305konica/index1.ht ml Rob Studdert HURSTVILLE AUSTRALIA Tel +61-2-9554-4110 UTC(GMT) +10 Hours [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://members.ozemail.com.au/~distudio/publications/ Pentax user since 1986, PDMLer since 1998
