I agree, Igor. (I only wanted to add a "weighting factor" to any
discussion centered around that letter, due to its author.)

In my case, all I can say is that I've now bought three DS's - my own, a
Christmas present for my partner Diane, and another Christmas present for
my daughter-in-law (purchased on behalf of, and paid for by, her husband).
All three seem perfectly fine. However, the latter two have not been used
as much as mine, nor have any of them been subjected to any "measurbating"
<cringe> (the letter's author likes to refer to himself as "the Pentax DSLR
Measurbator!" - that's what he has put in his signature until perhaps just
the last few days). Heck we only use our DS's for taking pictures - <g>.
(OK, admittedly I'm a bit of a gear freak myself, but my DS hasn't really
been used for much - yet - except non-gear-related photos.)

I think "the jury is still out" on the answer to your question, and I do
think it's a good question.

Fred
