Thanks for the info. I'm not necessarily looking for actual saturation in the image on-film... more like how well the film can maintain tonal detail in highly saturated areas.

I do prefer a lower contrast as it gives me more information to work with while scanning. Some other shots on that roll show that Astia 100F seems to handle the highlights pretty well, but I need to compare with Provia 100F for its behaviour in high contrast situations. The low grain is a bonus that, as you mentioned, tips the scales in favour of Astia.
