Finally ordered the Sigma APO 1.4 EX Tele for the Sigma 300F4.
It's an awesome combination. The 2x EX converter works well too (AF struggles of course) and I used them together as well with decent results in good light. 300 x 1.4 x 2 = 840 :-)
