Your comparison is not very well chosen, Pål.
Ther's only 1 pro dog photographer for every 1000 sports photographers.
And
he dosn't really need the speed.
Most any dog can outrun most any person.
And they are smaller, and harder to track.
The advantage is that they are supposed to be running a set course.
The best way I have found to shoot dog sports is to set up in a spot that
gives me a good angle on an obstacle, if I am lucky, I might have good
vantage on a couple, and shoot the entire class from there, getting the dog
at the height of the action.
It's old style decisive moment stuff. The buffer doesn't matter so much, nor
does AF.
