First (and most important): one gets a good-bye cake from those who stay cubicled: http://www.libertus.pl/tmp/pentax.jpg Then one starts spending whatever he saved during cubicle years, and quickly becomes poor but sometimes happy. PDML lurking (including the most pointless threads) becomes a major point of daily schedule. Then one asks himself if the cubicle was actually that bad, and whether his photography (and, sadly more important, marketing) skills are worth anything.
Then it's time to return to cubicle. Or not.

Give it a try then, there's always a cubicle to go back to, if the (photo)reality is not up to your dreams :)
