The metal-colored shield on the left side of the lens, near the
lens mount, appears to read "Digital Samsung SA." This is the
shield that on DA lenses reads "SMC Pentax DA."
So is the lens series Samsung SA or Schneider-Kreuznach D-Xenon?
Or is the metal shield design team not talking to the lens
front design team?
RAW format will be SEF? Or DNG? Will Photoshop convert SEF RAW
files?
If the Samsung lenses lack SMC coating, then a two-tiered lens
system will emerge. Pentax lenses with SMC will be the
higher-end lenses. Since the low end of the market is covered by
the Samsung lenses, Pentax will have less need to compete on
price. So will the price of SMC Pentax lenses rise? You heard it
first here.
