No, Asahi Optical Ltd. was the original name of the Pentax company.
Takumar is to Asahi Optical as Nikkor is to *Nippon* Kogaku
the original name of Nikon. For a while Pentax had the same
relationship to Asahi Optical until they changed their company name.

With the proper adapter. Mechanically much the same way as using an M42
lens on the *istDL. Damn if I know how well it works.
