never had to use glacial acetic acid for (B&W) film development...

but my point actually was that those things have tons of other uses, and
will be available regardless of the fate of film.
including glacial acetic acid.

probably true.
otoh, when i was a kid, i used to buy 98% sulphuric acid in department stores
("for car batterties") -- but that was  in a different country.
