i have never had a c/y one, but if mtf curves (from photodo and zeiss) are any indication, c/y 50/1.4 wide open should be about as sharp wide open as pentax 50/1.7, which is quite a bit sharper than pentax 50/1.4 (also wide open)
stopped down (beyond f/2.8) they are probably indistinguishable but that's only my speculation at this point. best, mishka On 1/18/06, P. J.
