It could happen in the US too.
This might as well be urban legend, but a couple of years ago I read
somewhere that accidents involving people falling into the Grand
Canyon were increasing, the article said because people are too used
to the kind of protected and safe amusement they get at places like
Disneyland, so they acted in the same careless manner in National
Parks...
