Just for the fun of it, it made a small test. SMC Pentax M 4/75-150mm versus BBAR Tamron Adaptall 3.5/70-150mm.
I'm happy to be able to say, that the Pentax lens is a pretty clear winner: http://www.jensbladt.dk/Test/newfile.html The test shots are crops, showing the only centre of the frame. The shots show a Danish 50kr note (apr. 8 USD) at a distance of apr. 3 meter (flash). The 75mm shots are enlarged more than the 150mm shots. BTW: The lady on the note is the Danish writer Karen Blixen, the author of the well known novel; My African Farm, on which the movie, featuring Maryl Streep and Robert Redford, was based.
