My Dad, who passed away several years ago, had cancer of the pancreas. As I understand it, since the pancreas are so "deeply buried" in the abdomen, and since they have very few nerve endings, by the time any pain is felt, the cancer is already established and very hard to control. It's a tough way to go. I hope Gary's demise was short and relatively pain-free. May he rest in peace. cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson
