I caught her in concert at a club called Jonathan Swifts in Cambridge Ma. This was just after she had a minor hit with a song called I should have listened to the junkman or something like that. She had quickly put together the band and they only had a set list of about 8 songs. Due to a poor showing they invited us from the first show to stay for the second, where thy did the same 8 songs.
I was a big fan of Ten Wheel Drive when they came out -- thought they were much underrated. What a set of pipes that woman had! Makes me want to get out the albums and try to get my turntable working. Last I heard of her was a brief item in Rolling Stone sometime in the early 1980s, in which she had gone punk and pretty much repudiated her days fronting a jazz-rock horn band. Thanks for the memory! Stephen
