The VariMagni finder I obtained fits the Pentax *ist DS and Pentax MX (I just tested that one) as if it were made for them. It's actually a better fit on the eyepiece than the Canon Angle Finder C on the Canon 10D body.

There's certainly some variability in all these pieces, both the camera eyepieces and the VariMagni finders. For instance, the first DS body I bought a rubber eye protector that was a touch loose and disappeared one day. The replacement fits precisely, snugly, and will never come free of its own accord like that one did. The second DS body's eyepiece is similarly snug and precise.
