Sell? Well, I doubt they sell a lot. Besides, hardly anyone buy these camera
for use with 200/2.8 lenses.
A 200/2.8 isn't exactly exotic glass either. 200mm lenses are pretty
vanilla, along with 300/4's they're pretty much the standard long primes.
I think a 200/2.8 is pretty exotic for the average slr buyer. I also believe
that the *stD appeal to two kinds of buyers; 1) entry level users who buy
kit lenses. 2) Pentax users that already own the lenses they want. They only
use the *istD because something better isn't available. I believe there are
very few who buys exotic Pentax glass these days.
