I did that and agreed with Marco within half an hour from Knarf's original
post.
And thanks to Frank for posting. As he wrote, it was so obvious that no one
was forced to do anything if feeling uncomfortable with such a request.

The representative at Pentax Canada responded to my inquiry within half
an hour, described the requirements and use for the photos, and answered
all my questions. He provided his name and phone number at Pentax Canada
as well.
For natterers who see nothing but suspicion in what Frank posted, it is
sometimes best to simply send an inquiry on such things and ask rather
than interminably whine and natter to the list without adequate
information. It actually gets something done.
