I don't know how relevant this is but I glued the gray button down in my first SuperA back in the eighties. It made it a whole lot easier to use and from recollection I simply unscrewed the flange that surrounds the shutter button and the dial came off so I could glue it in the depressed position from behind. I'm sure if the button is stuck it would be easy enough to repair if the knob was removed.
