Cory,
Although we all know that there is a QC variable that applies to
everything, the image produced by my SMC-M 28/f2.8 has never
disappointed me. I've also, never compared it to any other versions or
makes of the 28mm, so how do I know..?
My feeling is that it might come in second against my A* 28~70 f/2.8.
I'll give a test.

I guess by versions I was sorta looking for clarification on the Version1 vs. Version2 of the SMC-M 28/2.8.

I haven't been able to justify AF lenses (cost) or zoom lenses (already have 18-55 SMC-FAJ, 28-105 Vivitar, and 70-210 VS1 so focal ranges are covered). It's been fun getting good, old MF glass for little. That's the vein I'm in, although I would like to see how the SMC-M compares to the 28-70.

Cheers
-Cory
