I had issues last summer shooting baseball where I repeatedly had to wait for 
the camera's buffer to empty itself out -- should the ability to write to the 
card faster not cause the buffer to empty more quickly?

Of course, I was using a D, not a DS.  I don't offhand know what the buffer or 
write speed of the D are like, but I'm assuming they're not as good as the DS 
or DS2.

Once April rolls around I can let you know if it makes a difference in that 
real-world situation -- my DS should arrive Wednesday-ish, but Opening Day is 
still a couple of months away.

The DS2 can theoretically perform writes as fast as a 133x SD card  
can accept, but the buffer sizes, etc, have not changed. I doubt that  
you'd see all that much difference between them in practical terms.
