If I'm going to make a cable then I guess an extra
(sprung) contact will have to be put in the hot
shoe adapter. That's not a simple matter, but it
can be done. I suppose I'd better start looking
for a Chinese cable. I don't think I could bring
myself to fork out $60. In any case the cable,
being coiled up like a spring, will be a bloody
nuisance and it might be very difficult to get it
out of the way. Ah well.

No doubt in my mind - provided the flash and cord supports TTL. TTL does
require a third wire, allowning the camera sensor to cut off the beam, when
the sensor says: "Cut"
But the lens may determine which metering type is used - only A-lenses or
later (Correct me if I'm wrong) will allow matrix metering during flash
exposure.

The camera has no 'K' mount lens attached. It sits
on top of a tube fitted to a bayonet to
screw-mount adapter. The camera is set to 'other
than A'. All the image forming optics are
external. So will TTL work?
By the way there are flash pictures (made on film)

There are two non-flash images for comparison --
its easy to see which they are -- this protist
moves. These are not brilliant pictures, but they
show some interesting detail. The first three are
bacteria and air bubbles taken for no reason at all.
