Yes. At f/3.5, it's (barely, by Pentax standards)) just fast enough to autofocus even with the 1.7X's light loss (although in reasonably bright light I've used both the A 28-135/4 and the A 70-210/4 with the 1.7X adapter - mostly for fun, I might add, not for serious shooting). Fred
