Some people have surmised that Hoya makes the Pentax filters. I do
not believe that this is true. However, Hoya may well make the glass
for Pentax filters. They make glass for many companies. However,
this glass may be made to Pentax specs (optical companies often
provide specs for the glass they use), or Pentax may be buying it "off
the shelf". However, the coatings are definitely not typical of Hoya,
and the construction is different as well.
