Hi,

There's a follower on the lens mount, they are very small - one is supposed
to catch the stationary lug on the back of the lens mount; the other is
supposed to follow the tab that tracks with the aperture.  It sounds like
the one that "tells" the camera that you are using an open-aperture meter
isn't working (the one that catches the lug) - might just be fouled with
something.  If you carefully run your finger along the very inside edge of
the lens mount flange, you can feel them, run them back and forth carefully
some and you might "clear" it.  Keep your fingers off the mirror! (You knew
that)
