Sid,
I also am a pyro "maniac".  I'v been using it for
about 8 years and counting.  You are certainly right
about the accutance, or edge defintition, and I also
find that the tonal separation or "internal" contrasts
that my best lenses are capable of are revealed best
by pyro developer.  One major plus for me is that the
stock solutions never die. I develop film about twice
a month, and if I use another developer, it will no
longer be usable after 2 or 3 months.  I can use pyro
that has been sitting in brown bottles after 2 years!
A developer that is measured with syringes/milliters
instead of ounces has to be the most economical of
all.
