I took this photo in 1979/80, and it is probably one of the first I
ever
took with my MX. Certainly it is the first that made me think I might
be
quite good at this. It remains one of my best ever portraits, in that
it
captures an aspect of the young lady's personality very accurately. We
are
still very good friends, even after all this time.
I've exhibited it a couple of times, usually quite tightly cropped -
it's
one of the few photos of mine I crop.
I have just now scanned it, and haven't cleaned the negative or tried
to
remove any of the crud you can see. I auto-levelled it in PS, then
resized
and sharpened with Irfan.
