"After" is what WILL happen between this very minute and in the
foreseeable future.
"After" can also pertain to a period of time between any given time
marker (e.g. Tuesday, September 8th, 1844) and whatever followed
that point in time.
It doesn't have to be complicated or esoteric.

believe in a big bang. Of necessity, they must believe in a steady-
state universe existing in a perpetual now.
This isn't complicated or esoteric. In fact, part of its appeal is
its very simplicity.
