I too have the F100-300 and it works fairly well for me. I mostly use it for action and it's surprisingly sharp and contrasty between 100-200mm fully open but after 200mm it takes a dive. Of course, stopping it down makes it better. Out performs my friend's Sigma 70-300mm 4-5.6 DL. I paid $65 at KEH.com about a year ago in EX condition. They have one in the same condition with caps for $69. The FAs is more but I don't know if it's any different.
