It probably wouldn't. But it's quite possible that, if the user is trying to use the "green button" trick to meter with older pre-A lenses stopped down to small apertures, that the camera is being asked to meter at a light level that falls outside the specifications of the meter cell. Would that lead to overexposure or to underexposure?
