Cute camera and lens.

40mm on 24x36 film has always been one of my favorites.

40mm proves a little less desirable for me on the DSLR bodies; 28mm gives about the same field of view. I find myself using 28mm and 35mm a lot with the FA20-35, perhaps I should invest in an FA28/2.8 AL.

The nice thing with this focal length (40 on 135 and 28 on the DSLR) is that you can do zone focusing very nicely: set to f/11, now at 6m (18') you get scenic range, set to 2m (6') and you get close up range. (You get about one stop more speed with the DSLR since you can use f/8 instead of f/11 for the equivalent DoF ranges.)
