YUp - I do know about the chalk being beasties , (geology
was my minor so I had better) but
didn't know or note where Cotty was when he took this.  It
looks like a
cultivated field - or is it just the tire tracks that make
it look so?

I've never been to England, but there are places on this
side of the pond that
have a similar feel and I find it bone-chilling and
fascinating at the same time.
