I staggered down to the far border after
lunch and took seven (RAW) pictures with the
Sigma 400/5.6 APO through the trees. I
staggered back -- the tripod was so cold
(even with thick gloves) I could hardly feel
my fingers. Anyway ... after thawing my
digits I stacked the pictures with Helicon
Focus and with CombZ and have posted the
results here:

It seems to me that HF copes with slight
movement better than CZ, using the program
default settings. I'm sure that CZ would do
as well with a bit of tweaking. But I may
have said this before -- CZ needs more care
and attention.
I didn't make a long through focus series --
the nearest in tree is about 10 metres from
the camera the the last in focus ones are
about sixty metres away. The bright patch on
the snow is not blown out according to RSE
anyway.
There is a red leaf that shows what happens
when things move, but you can only see the
problem zoomed in to 100% or more in Photoshop.
