Verification done, unsurprisingly, it only displays the embedded JPEG
preview in both cases (PEF/DNG)... Which is still way better than the
black "image" displayed with the previous version.
Enough to sort images and [open with]/[Photoshop XXX] for real editing.
FYI, the new version of the freeware image viewer/converter XnView
(http://www.xnview.com) now properly displays both my PEF files and
DNG files converted from them (*ist DS v2.00).
I haven't investigated enough to know whether the display is based on
the embedded JPEG preview or on the actual RAW image, but still this
greatly improves the useability of the thing for my everyday work!
