You still need a frame detection device so that you avoid that the sprockett holes
coincide with the data imprinting device. With the solution you describe above you
need a dataimprinting emitter for each datapoint instead of just one as now. You also
would need memory to remember the number of rolls. Also when reloading rolls they
would have been counted twice or more dependent on how many times you load them.
