I say this as a newcomer to the Pentax brand, and as someone who has
owned and used almost all the major brands of cameras and lenses over
a 40 year time period:
They will produce a proper camera which will reflect well on the
current state of the art of photography. A photographer's camera.
For all the complaints I read on these forums and mailing lists, I
have not had a single issue with my two DS bodies in 10,000+
exposures over the course of a year. They have produced a tremendous
number of excellent photographs for me. They are the state of the
Art, if not necessarily the state of the technology. The tools
designed by a tradition of conservative photographic sensibility.
I like their conservatism. I think it is what makes these cameras and
lenses especially useful.
