I'm with Godfrey on that one. I have the scribed H and V grid screen in my LX. It's perfect. I too am annoyed by a split image in the middle of the screen.

Funny, but I've always replaced the standard focusing screens in all my manual focus SLRs with a plain matte fresnel focusing screen (with scribed H and V reference grid). Those darn focusing aids get in the way for me.

AF SLR screens are cleaner, in general, and less annoying. ;-)
