If past is prologue, why should we have expected anything faster?
The only possible reason I can think of is that now Pentax have had produced half dozen siblings for *istD. So they kind of learned the drill, so to say.
Assuming that their programmers know the craft, I would hope that software part of new camera would have been easier to build too.
I know zilch about hardware... Boris
