What name is on the faceplate, if the guts of the cameras are identical, is almost irrelevant. The only relevance would be which distributor provides better customer service on repairs.

Kinda like buying the Panasonic LX1 vs the Leica DLux2. You're buying the same product, but if you pay the 20-30% Leica premium you get Leica's service and support. (I bought the Panasonic...)

I've got Italian press releases of both the Samsung GX-1S and GX-1L.
Specs are identical to their Pentax relatives, hence it is perfectly
clear that
they are the *istDS2 and the *istDL2.

And, of course, both the Samsungs output .PEF RAW files.
