About 10 years ago, we had a robbery, and the bedroom was pulled apart and some of the objects taken were my Pentax LX and lenses. But the kids also took my telephone long distance card and started to call all the numbers (mostly drug countries) in the instruction leaflet. The telephone company reported them and we got everything back wihin 48 hours none the worse for wear. last year we had another robbery, but the thieves discovered my play money bank - about $800 in coin. They brought in my mainb camera bag with most of my equipment into my computer room, but only took the money. Some weeks later I discovered that an older bag was missing probably to carry the coins in. I have most of my camera equipment in a LowePro Commercial Magnum AW. I only take it with me on vacation or long weekend trips when I want to have all my equipment with me. I usually put it into an old rusty Coleman cooler in the trunk of the car, mostly to protect it from the summer heat. Hopefully it is safe there unless the thieves want to have a cold beer :-) herb
