So does the D (and siblings), actually - there's a full-res JPEG hidden in that PEF file, and several of the third-party browser programs will use it for previews (as does Pentax Photo Browser). Unfortunately it's always a lowest-quality JPEG - I really wish the embedded JPEG quality was a user-selectable option.
