> Ken, could you translate please part about sensor used in "D2" for us?

Sure. I think you are referring to this part.

Q: Is the sensor which will be used in this model Sony's? Or is there any
surprise?

A: There are only so many suppliers of large size sensors. There is no
surprise for the sensor supplier (translation: it's Sony's, right?).
However, in other aspects such as the functions/performance/concept etc, the
product has a strong impact and could be regarded as surprise.

Q: Digital cameras are not strictly optical equipments, but their final
images are produced by the combination of multiple technologies such as
sensor performance, image processor performance and image processing
software etc. In this regard, how Pentax are going to provide the
differentiation?

A: Digital cameras are quite different from the film one in that the image
can be massaged by the creativity and the experience by each mfr. This is
totally different from the film cameras. In this area, we want to show our
know-how as the optical equipment vendor, not just about the performance of
the digital device. For example, the performance of the AE and the white
balance etc are rather determined by the accumulated experiences and
know-how. It is easier for Pentax to exercise the accumulated know-how in
this area.

And, it is important to take advantage of the lens asset based on above
assumptions. We are now preparing many lenses unique only to Pentax.
The quality of the final image is produced by the total package including
the lens system, and this point is one of our strongest advantages.
