I've been meaning to ask this for a while but keep forgetting. Most of Pentax's film bodies, the ME-Super and MX in particular, are listed as having -1.0 Diopter eyepieces. On the MES adding a -3 for my right eye, or a -4 for my left eye is about perfect. On the MX a -4 is way too much for my left eye (headache too much) but a -3 isn't enough for my left eye. My prescription 'distance' glasses are -4.25 left, and -3.75 right.
1. Does anyone know why the MES and MX are so different though both are listed as being -1? 2. Am I wrong in thinking what I'm doing should result in -4 or -5 diopter correction, depending on whether I use the -3 or -4? 3. Does anyone know where I could get custom diopters made? None of the opticians I've asked can deal with lenses this small. (About 13mm x 18mm) Actually _none_ of them can deal with glass lenses at all anymore, just plastic. ;-( Big TIA Don
