Hi Bruce, I've looked carefully at D200 noise comparisons and if you discount the potential for post processing NR due to the higher pixel count the *ist D series cameras look pretty good. In the new camera even if Pentax have the banding bug beat there's only so much that can be done with NR technologies however it's not so clean cut given the rumours of integrated anti-shake. AS could provide a solution to 50% of my low light shooting by allowing me to step to a lower ISO in order to reduce image noise however of course there is no indication yet that AS would be either available or effective in conjunction with my primarily "A" series glass. So the decision is still pretty gray really.
