It seems there were never very many samples of some high-end lenses available
to sell. If the sales were "dreadful," the lenses would be sitting ona shelf in
a warehouse. Apparently, there are none available. I would say the sales were
"capacity constrained." "Dreadful" is when you can't sell out the production
run.
