That just means that the default working space is sRGB, on opening a file containing another colorspace PS will either work in that colorspace or convert to the default colourspace depending on the "color management policies" which have been selected in the "colour settings" dialogue > I'm also amazed at how little difference it has made in other images, not > doing the Convert to Profile step.
