Hi All, I got my replacement MZ-S from cameraworld.com last week (the first one didn't rewind the first roll of film). I took it backpacking along with my FA* 28-70 F2.8 lens and Bogen 3001/3262 tripod over the weekend. Five rolls of film later, here are my likes and dislikes (for landscape photography, anyway): Likes: ====== Grip shape: the sharp edge feels good in my hands. Exposure and Meter mode switches. Easy to operate. Command dial and display: Easy to use, easy to read. Autobracketing: This is my first autobracketing body. DOF Preview: Excellent control placement. Size and Weight: Makes a great backpacking camera. Timer/Mirror Lockup: Easy to use. Dislikes: ========= Power Switch: Too easy to switch on or off. Autobracket Selector: Hard to turn. Focus Point Selection: Difficult to use on a tripod. Overall: ======== I really like the overall design philosophy. In particular, I like the light, solid feel of the body. I also really like having seperate switches for the metering mode, exposure mode (single, multi, etc.), and exposure compensation. I can see how my camera is set up at a glance and change it just as quickly. Of course it's not perfect (see my dislikes above), but I really like it. Will it help me get better pictures than my LX or ZX-5? Continuous autofocus might help with wildlife, but probably not otherwise. Does it enhance my photography experience? Definitely. --Mark - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
